A studio for
websites that
convert.

Qualia is a studio where design, engineering, and marketing meet. We build websites that look right — and earn the metric the business cares about.

Three sites,
three metrics
we moved.

Each project lives at its own domain. Below: a medical institute, a residential broker, and a small French restaurant — each rebuilt around the number their business actually runs on.

Q-001 · Healthcare · Hospitality · 2025

Where modern medicine meets the art of care.

A wellness-led medical brand for a multi-specialty institute.

A 38-page editorial site for a global medical practice — built around long consultations, multi-language care, and the conviction that architecture is therapy. Halen needed a site that feels like a place you would actually want to visit.

Q-002 · Real Estate · Architecture · 2025

A quiet authority on residential architecture.

A dark-luxe broker for architect-led residences.

Twelve listings, three offices, one editorial language. Hauz operates by invitation; the site needed to feel like a folio quietly placed on the desk of someone serious — not a marketplace shouting for clicks.

Folio II · The practice

Four disciplines,
one outcome.

Strategy, identity, design-and-engineering, and growth. Each can be commissioned on its own — but they tend to be most useful together, aimed at the same metric.

I · The brief, rewritten around the metric.

Strategy & positioning

Before pixels: who converts, where they drop, what the funnel looks like today, and what the brand has to say to move the number. Strategy is design’s first deliverable.

II · A distinctive voice — that still sells.

Identity & art direction

Visual identity drawn around the audience you are actually trying to reach. Distinctive enough to be remembered, disciplined enough to drive action on the page.

III · Beautiful by default. Built to convert.

Design & engineering

Websites where design, copy, and engineering serve the same metric. Astro, TypeScript, hand-tuned CSS — paired with a performance budget, an analytics layer, and a conversion-experimentation framework that ships on day one.

IV · A site is the start, not the deliverable.

Growth & continuation

After launch, we monitor the funnel, run conversion experiments, ship monthly improvements, and keep performance and SEO healthy. The site that ships in week 12 is not the site that runs in month 24 — that is the point.

Folio III · The method

How a site
gets built here.

Five movements, in series. We start with the funnel, end with the dashboards, and design the whole way between with the same metric in view.

i

The audit

We look at the funnel before we look at the moodboard. Who is converting today, where they drop, what the analytics say, what the search console knows. The brief follows the data, not the brand book.

Strategy
ii

The strategy

Conversion paths, content architecture, SEO targets, performance budget, brand direction. Decided on paper before any pixel — and held to from there.

Strategy
iii

The design

Distinctive, but never at the expense of the metric. Every layout, every CTA, every line of copy runs through the funnel question first. Pretty is the floor.

Design
iv

The build

Astro, TypeScript, plain CSS, edge-served. Performance budget held at every commit. Analytics, A/B framework, lead capture, payment and booking flows wired in from the first sprint.

Engineering
v

The iteration

Launch is the start, not the deliverable. We monitor Core Web Vitals, run conversion experiments, ship monthly improvements, and report back on what moved the metric.

Folio IV · The manifesto

Four things
we believe.

If we agree on these, we will probably agree on the work. We send them with every brief.

Art. i Conversion is the brief. Every section, every button, every paragraph earns its place by what it does to the funnel. Pretty is the floor; performance is the work.

Art. ii Marketing-aware engineering. SEO, analytics, A/B tests, lead capture, payment flows — wired in from the first sprint, not bolted on after launch.

Art. iii Performance compounds. Page weight is a tax on revenue. We set a performance budget on day one and hold it to launch and beyond — because Core Web Vitals move rankings and rankings move revenue.

Art. iv Distinctive, with a purpose. Standing out is a means, not an end. We design with character because indistinct sites get scrolled past — and a site that gets scrolled past cannot convert.

Folio V · In their words

The clients,
on what moved.

What the dashboards showed, and what the founders said about it.

Booking conversion almost doubled in the first quarter after launch — same traffic, redesigned funnel. Qualia spoke about Core Web Vitals and lead capture in the same sentence. That was the difference.

Anaïs Bernard CEO, Halen Medical Institute

The site reads like a magazine and outperforms our paid funnel by four times on a cost-per-lead basis. They understood the listing flow as well as the typography.

Hugo Mendel Partner, Hauz Residential

Reservations up, organic search up, average cover up. The site looks like us, and the dashboards finally agree with how the dining room feels on a Friday.

Folio VI · Questions

Things
worth asking
us first.

The questions our clients tend to ask before the first call. If yours is missing, write to us.

We talk about conversion and Core Web Vitals in the same sentence. These are the questions that usually come up next.

Ask us anything
  • On the metric the business actually runs on — bookings, leads, demos, sign-ups, sales. We agree on it at the start of the engagement, instrument it from day one, and report back monthly. Awards are a side-effect, not the goal.
  • Yes. The build ships with an experimentation framework wired in — splits, holdouts, primary and secondary metrics. After launch we run a continuous program of hypotheses against the funnel, prioritised by expected impact.
  • SEO is an engineering and editorial discipline before it is a marketing one. We build with semantic HTML, fast Core Web Vitals, structured data, clean information architecture, and a content plan written against keyword and intent research. Search Console connected from day one.
  • Plausible by default — privacy-first, cookie-free, EU-hosted, fast. Where deeper instrumentation is needed (GA4, server-side tagging, conversion APIs, attribution) we wire it carefully and keep it documented. You always know what is being tracked, and why.
  • Most clients keep us on a retainer for exactly that — design refinements, performance care, seasonal pages, conversion experiments, journal posts. The same team that built the site is the same team that improves it.
  • Cloudflare Pages, by default. Edge-served from 300+ cities, sub-50ms response times globally, automatic TLS. Migrating later is easy — the site is static HTML at the edge, and the source lives in your Git repository.
A first conversation

Let’s talk numbers.

Tell us the metric you want to move. We will tell you what the site has to do to move it.
